Our troop does the Glen Ellyn Boy Scout Troop 45 Pancake Breakfast every year in December. The pancakes are served at the First United Methodist Church. You can buy tickets for $5 from a scout that comes to your door, or by revisiting this website to figure out when the breakfast is (Calendar). Also, you can eat as many pancakes as you want for only $5(All you can eat).

Service Projects

In 1910, the BSA(Boy scouts of America) was formally organized by a Chicago Publisher. By 1912, Glen Ellyn had many troops, including troop 45. Troop 45 was known as troop 2. In 1929, FUMC created The First United Methodist Church, which we still use today. 1938 saw the formation of the DuPage Council of Boy Scouts
which officially changed the identity of troop 2 to Troop 45. Since then, 17% of all homes in Glen Ellyn, have produced boys for troop 45. Since the beginning, over 150 Boy Scouts have reached the rank of eagle in troop 45. Eagle is the highest rank a scout can achive.

Our Trooop meets every Tuesday at 7:30 - 9 at 424 Forest Ave in Glen Ellyn.

Troop 45 Facebook

Every yearGlen Ellyn Troop 45 goes to Boy Scout Summer Camp for one week. At this camp, we do many fun activities including swimming, Archery, Climbing, and Rifle Shooting. This year we are going to Camp Freeland Leslie in Oxford Wisconsin. Scouts also learn many life skills by taking Merit Badge Classes. Every day, scouts go to their merit badge classes that they chose, and learn about a certain topic. Skills like swimming, first aid, cooking, and communications. These skills can be used in their adulthood that they may of never learned.

Who We Are

Our troop has 5 patrols, Flaming Arrow, King Cobras, and Comanche, Goat Milk and Cohors. Each patrol has a patrol leader that leads their patrol. We also do patrol competitions at camp outs and troop meetings which use certain skills that we learn to try and prevail.

We have our troop meetings every Tuesday. At troop meetings, we plan for an upcoming event, or learn new skills and then do patrol games from the skills we learned. If we have extra time, our troop plays dodgeball.

Pancake Breakfast

There are 40+ scouts in our troop and we have scouts from 7 different elementary schools, 5 different Jr Highs and 2 different High Schools. We are boy-led and adhere to the patrol method. Scouts do all of the cooking, choose the campouts and buy the equipment.

Games We like to play

Our troops likes to play many games! Some games include mafia, many card games, Dodgeball, and many other outdoor games(on campouts). Our troop plays dodgeball very often, almost every meeting to have fun. We may also do some sort of troop game to gain points for the patrols. This games involve skills that you learn from the meeting and use them to try an win.
